About Christian B. Coppinger
Licatesi Law Group is proud to welcome Christian B. Coppinger, an accomplished New York trial attorney with more than 25 years of experience litigating complex construction-accident, medical-malpractice, and catastrophic-injury cases.
Christian brings extensive first-chair trial experience to the firm. Throughout his career, he has tried cases before juries, selected jurors, examined witnesses and experts, argued significant motions, conducted complex depositions, and represented clients in arbitrations and mediations. He previously spent seven years as the lead trial attorney at a high-volume plaintiffs’ personal-injury firm, where he directed the firm’s trials and managed a substantial docket of serious-injury cases.
A major focus of Christian’s practice is representing accident victims including construction workers injured due to owners, general contractors, and other responsible parties’ failure to provide legally required workplace protections. He has substantial experience prosecuting claims under New York Labor Law §§ 200, 240(1), and 241(6) involving falls from heights, falling objects, scaffold and ladder failures, dangerous work areas, and Industrial Code violations.
Christian also brings a sophisticated understanding of medical-malpractice litigation. He has represented patients and families in claims against physicians, hospitals, and healthcare institutions involving failures to diagnose, surgical errors, departures from accepted standards of care, and lack of informed consent. Earlier in his career, Christian also defended physicians and hospitals in high-exposure malpractice cases, giving him valuable insight into how healthcare defendants, insurance carriers, and medical experts evaluate and defend these claims.
His experience on both sides of complex civil litigation allows him to anticipate defense strategies, challenge opposing expert opinions, and develop persuasive presentations of liability, causation, and damages. Over the course of his career, Christian has achieved multimillion-dollar results for injured clients and their families.
Christian earned his Bachelor of Arts in Government and Politics, cum laude, from St. John’s University and his Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law School. He is admitted to practice in New York State Courts and before the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
Christian’s arrival further enhances and strengthens Licatesi Law Group’s trial capabilities and its commitment to representing seriously injured individuals in complex Labor Law, medical-malpractice, automobile and catastrophic-injury cases. We are excited to welcome Christian to the firm and look forward to the experience, preparation, and courtroom advocacy he will bring to our clients.
